Tylose, or carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) is used to make fondant and marzipan firm and elastic. It is also suitable for making your own edible glue. CMC is also known as tylo.
Instructions for using fondant and marzipan:
Add 1 teaspoon of CMC powder to 200-250 grams.
Instructions for use edible glue:
Use 1 part CMC powder per 30 parts water. Let this mixture stand overnight and it is ready to use. If necessary, add more water to achieve the desired density.
Ingredients:
Thickener carboxy methyl cellulose E466 (100%).
May contain traces of eggs, milk, soya beans and nuts.
Store at room temperature in a dry place, do not expose to temperature changes and heat sources.
